This award provides assistance for students to pursue their single engine pilot's license.
Applications for the Lapsley Aviation Scholarship are currently open on a rolling basis.
Eligibility/Criteria: Recipients of this award must be ages 16-18 who are attending an accredited aviation program in Western North Carolina to pursue their single engine private pilot's license. Recipients must reside in and be attending a high school in Henderson County, NC. Applicants are required to have passed the standard FAA medical examination (we do not receive medical information, just verification of the exam) and to have been accepted into an accredited aviation program in Western North Carolina prior to applying for the scholarship.
