  • Philanthropic Award Recipients Announced at Annual Luncheon
    On Tuesday, November 8, Community Foundation of Henderson County hosted its first in-person Annual Luncheon since 2019. The event, held at Jeter Mountain Farm, was attended by nearly 250 community members. The Luncheon featured highlights from the Foundation’s past fiscal year, looked back at 40 years of the organization’s history, and recognized two local philanthropists with the presentation of the Marlow Philanthropic Catalyst Award and Sauer Charitable Leadership Award.
  • Community Foundation of Henderson County Announces New Scholarship Recipients
    Community Foundation of Henderson County is pleased to announce their new scholarship recipients for the 2022-23 school year. The Foundation’s Board of Directors approved 264 scholarships totaling $577,900 to be awarded to new students and current recipients. The Foundation awarded 107 new scholarships totaling $209,325 to 104 local students. For current Scholars, 157 renewable scholarship awards totaling $368,575 were offered.
  • Community Foundation Awards Grants to Children & Family Resource Center and WNCSource
    Community Foundation of Henderson County awarded a total of $63,400 to two area nonprofits as part of their special 40th Anniversary Grant program. The awards were presented to Children & Family Resource Center and WNCSource during Sunday’s International Children’s Festival at Jackson Park. The event was organized by Hola Carolina and sponsored by Community Foundation of Henderson County.

  • Horizon Heating & Air and Partners Announce 2022 Charitable Giving Program Recipients
    In its sixth year of providing support for local nonprofits, the Horizon Heating and Air Conditioning Charitable Giving Program is pleased to announce 2022 grant recipients. Horizon Heating & Air, Hannah Flanagan’s, Southern Alarm & Security, and Trane are partnering once again to provide $48,000 in grants for 28 nonprofits and charitable programs.

    Community Foundation of Henderson County is accepting applications for their academic scholarships until Monday, January 31, 2022. Scholarships are for graduating seniors, current college students, and returning adult/non-traditional students.
  • 2022 Martin Luther King, Jr. Unity Celebration to be Held Virtually
    The Martin Luther King, Jr. Unity Breakfast Committee has announced that the 2022 MLK, Jr. Unity Celebration will be held virtually. Due to public health conditions, the traditional breakfast held at Blue Ridge Community College was moved to a virtual format beginning in 2021. This year’s virtual celebration video will feature a keynote address from New York Times bestselling author Dolen Perkins-Valdez.

    Community Foundation of Henderson County is pleased to announce the release of their Annual Report for Fiscal Year ending June 30, 2021. Overall, more than $4.5 million in charitable grants and academic scholarships were awarded to nonprofits and local students supporting a multitude of causes.
