American Legion, Post 77, Hubert M. Smith Scholarship
The applicant must be the son, daughter, grandson, granddaughter or stepchild of a current member in good standing for 12 months prior to the scholarship deadline, or of a deceased member in good standing at the time of his death, of Hubert M. Smith, Post 77, American Legion. The applicant must be age 23 or less at the time of the application and be a graduating senior or graduate of a public, parochial or private school who intends to enroll in a two-year or four-year degree granting program. **You must submit a letter from the organization’s leadership verifying that you meet criteria**
Andrea Davies Skillman Scholarship
This scholarship provides financial assistance for a student of West Henderson High School matriculating to higher education at an accredited institution. A student who enters a Pathways Program, Early College Program or a post-secondary school early are also eligible. Students may be a business or marketing major with entrepreneurial goals. The student must exhibit the primary characteristic of having an entrepreneurial spirit and drive to succeed.
Anthony Kushigian (Normac) Scholarship
The recipient shall be a citizen and resident of Henderson County and shall have graduated from a high school in Henderson County. The applicant must need financial assistance to attend a post-high school institution. The student should demonstrate scholastic ability, financial need, character, leadership ability, participation in extracurricular activities, be of good moral character, and reflect a willingness to work, learn and pursue their education.
Arthur and Lois Jean Stuenkel Scholarship
This scholarship provides financial support to a graduating senior seeking to further his or her education beyond high school. The recipient must be in the top 25% of his or her graduating class and demonstrate financial need. This scholarship is for a worthy student who has participated in sports or extracurricular activities. Preference is given to a members of Grace Lutheran Church in Hendersonville, however others are encouraged to apply.
Arthur R. Hill Memorial Scholarship
This scholarship is for a college-bound student from a single-parent home. The applicant must have a minimum 3.0 GPA, a community service background, must demonstrate financial need, provide two character references, and demonstrate work ethic and ambition.
Betsy Copolillo and Sam Gash Scholarship
This scholarship is for Hendersonville High School students whose parents are educators. In the event no student of an educator applies for this scholarship, it may be awarded to a student who is majoring in education. Applicant must be a graduating senior at Hendersonville High School who has demonstrated academic promise, who has been accepted at an accredited four-year college, who has financial need and who is the child of a teacher or teacher's aide. If there is no child of a teacher or teacher's aide who meets the criteria, the scholarship may be given to a student who is pursuing teaching as a career and who meets the other criteria.
Bree Elizabeth Miller Memorial Scholarship
Applicant must be a graduate of Hendersonville High School. Financial assistance will be based on need and merit and preference will be given to a student who is pursuing a degree in English or International Studies.
Bryce A. Malsbary (BAM) Scholarship
The purpose of the Fund is to provide a scholarship for a person seeking higher education at an accredited institution, including but not limited to: vocational, technical, trade, college, or university levels of education. Assistance is for a resident of Henderson County or Polk County, North Carolina, leading to a degree. Candidate must show financial need, GPA 3.0 or higher, and have community service, work, or school activities; Preference is given to trades and healthcare fields, minority students, and adult learners – but should not exclude current college students or graduating seniors. Student must be a legal resident of North Carolina.
Business & Professional Women's Club
Applicant must be a graduating senior from a school in Henderson County and show strong academic standing with a minimum GPA of 3.0 and demonstrate financial need. Applicant must be pursuing their undergraduate education in a two- or four-year accredited institution.
CFHC General Scholarship
This scholarship provides financial assistance to students of Henderson County, NC, for education beyond high school. Applicants must demonstrate reasonable need and demonstrate the capacity for pursuing an advanced education.
