The Aviation Education Fund of WNC (AVIA) at Community Foundation of Henderson County accepts tax-deductible donations on behalf of the WNC Pilots Association Educational Foundation (WNCPAEF), a 501(c)(3) charitable corporation, for the purpose of furthering general aviation in the WNC region.

To this end, WNCPAEF annually solicits applications from and provides direct grants to candidates pursuing FAA certifications, including Pilot, Aviation Mechanic, and Avionics Repairman certificates, as well as advanced pilot training.

Since its incorporation in 2012, the WNCPAEF has awarded slightly more than $100,000 in aviation education grants for aspiring pilots and aviation mechanics.
