Program Officer

Overview
Community Foundation of Henderson County located is seeking an experienced, thoughtful and collaborative nonprofit professional to serve as Program Officer. The Program Officer will have primary responsibility of implementing all aspects of the Foundation’s programmatic functions and grantmaking process.

The Program Officer will join a close-knit, collaborative and responsive team committed to fulfilling the Foundation’s mission of helping people who care make lasting contributions to causes that matter. The Program Officer reports to the President/CEO. The position is based at Community Foundation of Henderson County’s office in Hendersonville, NC.

Background
Community Foundation of Henderson County is a highly visible, philanthropic leader directed by an engaged and committed board, staffed by qualified employees, empowering donors at all levels to invest in professionally managed charitable funds that address community needs. Founded in 1982, Community Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, public charity confirmed in compliance with National Standards for U.S. Community Foundations.

At the end of Fiscal Year 2021-22, the Foundation’s assets stood at nearly $121 million with 94% of those assets permanently endowed. The Foundation made grants totaling more than $4.8 million to hundreds of organizations across the region and country. Through various initiatives, the Foundation is building a network of committed donors and organizations who are passionate about improving their communities.

Compensation
Salary is commensurate with background and experience, and a generous benefits package is offered.
