Community Foundation of Henderson County Makes $86,711 in Grant Awards

Establishing a fund with Community Foundation of Henderson County offers donors a myriad of options. From being fully engaged in the process by making grant recommendations from a Donor Advised Fund, to gifting unrestricted dollars to support our Community Grant Program for unforeseen needs that arise in the future, or perhaps landing somewhere in the middle with a Field of Interest Fund.

Field of Interest (FOI) funds provides donors a unique opportunity who are perhaps passionate about a particular cause or program area, but also know that specific needs and organizations may change over time. Donors can support a general interest area such as Arts & Culture or get a bit more specific in wishing to support youth music or theater programs.

Community Foundation of Henderson County recently awarded $86,711.85 in Field of Interest grants in the areas of Animal Welfare, Arts & Culture, and Environmental/Conservation.

  • Blue Ridge Humane Society was awarded $39,918.30 to be utilized on a draw down throughout the next year with a large portion designated to support spay/neuter events.
  • $5,236.44 awarded to Carolina Mountain Woodturners in support of their educational programming.
  • $20,778.56 awarded to the Town of Fletcher and $20,778.55 to the Town of Mills River to aid in repairing their respective community parks following the recent flooding in April.
