Sean Stewart joined the professional team at Community Foundation of Henderson County in 2025. His position includes performing various accounting functions to assist the CFO, spanning areas of investment, internal audit and daily operations. Having attended the University of North Carolina at Asheville, Sean holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting with a minor in Business Management. After graduating in 2022, he gained experience across different disciplines of accounting including external audit, tax and fiduciary work.
His role at the Community Foundation allows Sean to unite his love for finance with his passion for helping others. Although his accounting background stems from the for-profit sector, he does bring with him nine years of nonprofit experience working with under-resourced and marginalized populations in a social work capacity.
Frequenting WNC throughout childhood while visiting family and attending camp helped to foster Sean’s love of the outdoors, and a deep connection with the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains. He decided to put down roots in the area and has called Henderson County home for over ten years. Outside the office, Sean enjoys landscaping projects and spending time outdoors with his wife, Grace, and their dog, Bunny.
