Rachel Buchanan joined the professional team at Community Foundation of Henderson County in May 2010. Prior to working at the Community Foundation, she was employed in a multifaceted position in Waynesville, NC.
Rachel oversees the Community Foundation’s investment and financial accounting and human resource services and works with our investment
committee, professional investment groups and human resources consultants. She is vital to producing reports to donors and fund holders of the Community Foundation.
Rachel’s in-depth experience includes such diverse skills and responsibilities as property management, construction supervision, business accounting, nonprofit accounting. She participated in the creation of a nonprofit organization that included her completing the documentation and filing for all of the tax determination requirements. Rachel’s experience with accounting, project management, human resources, and computers complements the Community Foundation team.
Rachel graduated from Western Carolina University with a BSBA in management and accounting. She served as treasurer for the Hendersonville Kiwanis Club. Rachel grew up in Transylvania County and has lived in Western North Carolina her entire life. She enjoys spending time with her husband, Brad, and their son, Alexander, as well as participating in landscaping and home improvement projects.
