Isabella Jontz joined the Community Foundation of Henderson County in 2025 as a Program Associate, bringing with her a background in psychology, youth services, and a passion for strengthening community well-being. In her role in the Foundation, Isabella supports the grants process, community engagement, and the Foundation’s social media pages. Prior to joining the Foundation, Isabella served as a Juvenile Court Counselor with the North Carolina Department of Public Safety, Division of Juvenile Justice, where she supported youth and their families as they navigated the juvenile justice system and worked collaboratively to promote rehabilitation.
Originally from Northern Virginia, Isabella moved to Western North Carolina three years ago, drawn by the region’s natural beauty and welcoming community. She quickly fell in love with the mountains and is proud to now call the area home.
Isabella graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Criminal Justice from Longwood University, where she also minored in Spanish. While at Longwood, she completed several research projects, including studies on the impact of social media on eyewitness testimony and how team empowerment influences self-efficacy.
In her free time, Isabella enjoys discovering new places through travel, experimenting with new recipes in the kitchen, and spending quiet moments with a good book. She also takes full advantage of the natural beauty of Western North Carolina through hiking and time outdoors, where she is often accompanied by her energetic Dalmatian.
