Shelby Milachouski-Kustak joined the professional team at Community Foundation of Henderson County in 2026. In her role as Office Manager, she supports the Foundation’s daily operations, oversees facilities coordination, and helps ensure the smooth functioning of the office.
Prior to joining the Foundation, Shelby served as an Administrative Assistant for the Math Department at the University of California at Davis. There she supported staff advisors, organized department events, and scheduled accommodated examinations. Earlier in her career, she worked as a Hospital Unit Secretary in eastern Tennessee and as a newborn photographer in the Charlotte area.
A longtime resident of North Carolina, Shelby earned a Bachelor of Arts with a concentration in photography from the University of North Carolina at Asheville. During her time at UNC Asheville, she served as a Head Resident Assistant, overseeing a staff of twelve resident assistants.
Outside of work, Shelby enjoys going to the movies, scrapbooking, and spending time with her wife, Morgan.
