Hendersonville, N.C., January 4, 2021 – In its fifth year of providing support for local nonprofits, the Horizon Heating and Air Conditioning and Hannah Flanagan’s Charitable Giving Program is pleased to announce they have expanded for 2021. The program has recently added two new partners: local company Southern Alarm & Security and home comfort system manufacturer Trane.
Nonprofit organizations wishing to apply for the 2021 Charitable Giving Program can access applications online at www.horizonheatac.com/hha-community-fund. Applications will be accepted through Monday, February 1, 2021. Last year, $24,000 was awarded to 14 nonprofits whose programs range from food assistance to medical care and after-school education.
As local business owners, Dan Poeta of Horizon Heating and Air and Matt Johnes of Hannah Flanagan’s have always made charitable giving a priority of their operations. Both understand the importance of giving back to the community that has loyally supported their businesses over the years. Understanding collaboration equals more impact, the two companies joined together in an effort to streamline their philanthropic efforts. Their efforts resulted in a Donor Advised Fund created through Community Foundation of Henderson County which offered the structure and organization to Dan’s, and eventually Matt’s, giving processes that they truly needed. Since then, more than $130,000 has been awarded to over 50 different nonprofits from the Fund supported by Horizon Heating and Air and Hannah Flanagan’s.
