Tonya Dirkse joined the Community Foundation team in 2016 as Administrative Assistant bringing with her more than a decade of office administration experience. Tonya accepted the Accountant position in 2023 and is excited to expand her knowledge and skills.
In addition to holding an Associate in Applied Science Degree in Office Administration from Blue Ridge Community College, Tonya has served as Treasurer for Business and Professional Women on the local and state level for several years. Her previous office administration, banking experience, and volunteerism makes her an integral member of the Community Foundation team.
As a native of Ypsilanti, Michigan, Tonya cheers for the Wolverines. But, as a graduate of East Henderson High School, the Eagles are close to her heart. She has called Henderson County home for over 20 years, where she considers the WNC mountains her true home. When she’s not in the office, you can find her hiking local trails with her dogs or working on DIY home improvement projects. Tonya also enjoys crafting, drawing, and sewing. One of her greatest joys in life is being a dog mom.
