Kris Merritt

Program Officer

Kris Merritt joined the professional team at Community Foundation of Henderson County in 2023. Prior to working at the Community Foundation, she was with the Boys and Girls Club, as the Director of the Kenton County Boys and Girls Club in Covington Kentucky, and then as the Outcomes Director at the Boys and Girls Club of Henderson County.

With a background rich in data procurement, grant management, and outcomes measurement, Kris oversees the Community Foundation’s programs and works with our grants committee and advisory groups through the grantmaking process.

The tapestry of Kris’ career includes studies in urban revitalization through recreation, middle school experiential education, trauma-informed youth development work with teens, college advisement & scholarship management, grant writing, data collection, and trip guiding on the Appalachian Trail.

Kris graduated from Magna Cum Laude from Ohio University with a BS in Recreation Studies, and holds an Associates in English. Kris has called Hendersonville her home since 2012, and is thrilled to be raising her two daughters in this beautiful, vibrant and generous city.

In her free time you can catch her reading, silk painting, or enjoying live local music performed by her talented husband.
