The WINS Fund provides resources to nonprofits that assist women in reaching their goals to obtain more education or training so they can improve their current situations and their lives. While the emphasis is on education and training, WINS grants may also be used to help nonprofits assist women going through a time of crisis or chaos.
Call for Proposals
On a periodic basis, the Community Foundation issues a Call for Proposals (CFPs) for nonprofits to apply for grants on a competitive basis. By issuing CFPs, the Community Foundation, through the WINS Fund hopes to:
- Spark new and promising ideas from the field
- Invite a diverse range of approaches and applicants to a single issue, problem or idea
- Bring together coalitions of people and groups to act on a problem or issue
Project Dignity of WNC was awarded a $15,000 WINS grant in 2019 to support their That Time of the Month project. This project supplies feminine hygiene products to schools and organizations in Henderson and Buncombe counties.
