Communications Specialist

Community Foundation of Henderson County is in the scenic mountains of Western North Carolina. The Foundation has a 35-year history of serving philanthropy in and around Henderson County. Our community population is just over 110,000, and the Community Foundation’s average annual distributions are approximately $3 million a year.

This position works as part of a team focused on all aspects of CFHC’s communications with the public.  Position will also utilize the latest trends in Program Analytics to research, track and evaluate CFHC’s impact on the Community.

The successful candidate will possess a working knowledge of grant making, scholarships, and data systems and be skilled in communications across all mediums. The candidate should demonstrate abilities to assess data and communicate with diverse community connections from technical professionals to those newly introduced to philanthropic services. This will include grouping data to formulate analysis of effective grants, lessons learned from charitable programs, writing press releases, publishing materials, helping create presentations and maintaining electronic/social media.

Education requirements: Bachelor’s degree with preferred experience in nonprofit grants, analysis and communications. Salary range: $37,000 to $49,900 a year. Benefits available upon completion of tiered waiting periods.

She applies current philanthropy trends and legislation to grant administration, scholarship stewardship and event management. Lee Henderson-Hill Senior Program Officer Lee Henderson-Hill has been with CFHC since 2009. Lee is responsible for all aspects of the grantmaking process, including program research, organizational consultation regarding applications, proposal investigation, advising and evaluation, grant tracking and post-grant evaluation.
