About CFHC Grants
Many organizations benefit from the foresight and leadership of CFHC donors who have create a fund. There are many different types of funds: unrestricted, field of interest, donor advised, designated and organizational funds. Grants from donor advised, designated and organizational funds make up a large part of the funds distributed from the Community Foundation. Donor Advised Grants Donor Advised grants illustrate the active role that CFHC donor advisors take in their philanthropy. As with all Foundation grants, these must be paid to organizations recognized by the IRS as tax-exempt charities. Designated/Organizational Grants Designated grants ensure long-term support for one or more organizations that were identified by the donor at the time of the fund's creation. Organizational grants allow the organization itself to create a fund to ensure long-term support. Unrestricted/Field of Interest Grants
Grants from unrestricted and field of interest funds are often done so through an application process.
